About the Artist
Gallery owner and award-winning artist Kathleen (Kat) Miller has been greatly influenced by the rich art history of Cape Ann in Massachusetts, where she grew up. Kat completed her Master’s Degree in Counseling and Psychology, studying art therapy, while also pursuing her passion for painting and fine art. She now works as a full-time artist, but her background as a therapist has a significant impact on her work. She infuses each piece with emotion and uses art as a vehicle for expression. Her use of color, texture, and bold paint application demonstrates not just the beauty and the ever-changing moods of the landscape, but the shifting perspective of the artist herself.
Kat works primarily in oils and mixed media. Her style may be described as Contemporary Impressionism, with strong expressive and abstract influences.
Current works may be viewed at the Art Nook Gallery, 52 Bearskin Neck in Rockport, MA, as well as at the Thanassi Art Gallery in Provincetown, MA.
Kathleen is a juried member of the National Association of Women Artists, and her work is in private collections worldwide.
